Thursday News: Monday Edition

Happy Easter, Monday gamers. Hope you found all the Easter Eggs! I just learned that with every Godzilla movie, the monster keeps getting bigger. The 2014 version will be 3 times the size of the original. Here’s a recap of all the video game news of the past few days, some cool deals you might be interested and industry news you might have missed.

Upcoming releases

  • Octodad, which was debuted at E3 alongside the PS4, will flail onto the system tomorrow, Tuesday April 25th at $14.99. It will be $3 cheaper if you have a PS+ account.
  • Dark Souls II for PC will be released by the end of this week.

General announcements

  • Bioware revealed the box art for Dragon Age. You can get the box, and presumably the game late this year.
  • Terraria received the huge 1.2 update for Vita, 360 and PS3 on April 17th, catching up to the PC version.
  • Sony announced that they sold 7 million PS4 units worldwide.
  • Final Fantasy XIV, which recently released on PS4, hit 2 million subscriptions.
  • Levi Hopkins, concept artist on PS4’s Infamous Second Son, revealed some powers that didn’t make it into the game, including glass and wire powers. And amazing Second Son concept in general. Check it out at levihopkinsart.com.
  • Wasteland 2 early beta received a major update, so fire up your game to check out the changes. You can check out the patch notes here.

  • You can preorder Dark Souls II for PC from Greenmangaming for $38 with code GMG025-EASTER-024HRS ($50 elsewhere). Preordering the game from GMG will get you all the Steam preorder bonus items. If you’re interested in Dark Souls II for the PC, this is the best price you’ll find.
  • Tropico 5 preorders are 10% off on steam until its release on May  23rd
  • Don’t Starve Reign of Giants DLC is on sale on Steam at a 20% discount. Promo ends April 29th
