From June 13th to the 15th, industry employees, journalists, and fans flocked to attend E3 2017 (or the Electronic Entertainment Expo) at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This was the first E3 to allow public access, which resulted in an extra 15,000 public passes sold.

Preceding the event, big video game companies like Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda, Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony hosted their press conferences where they announced their upcoming games for the year.

This Friday, we are bringing to you our “Love it or Hate it: E3 2017 Impressions” piece, where attendees discuss their feelings and opinions of this popular video game convention. We are excited to present our guests: Kyle Gaddo aka @kylegaddo, Amber Osborne aka @MissDestructo, Deejay Knight aka @DeejayKnight, and Vio aka @VioTCZ. It’s time to capture the essence of E3:

1. How many times have you attended E3?

Kyle Gaddo: “This makes E3 number 7.”

Amber Osborne: “This would be my third year!”

Deejay Knight: “I’ve only attended E3 this once, and it was a blast. :D”

Vio: “E3 2017 would be my second time! My first time was the previous year – both of them hold amazing memories.”

2. Which recently announced game are you most excited about and why?

Kyle Gaddo: “I’m most excited for Monster Hunter Worlds.”

Amber Osborne: “I can’t wait for Lawbreakers on PS4. Any game where I can kick my friend’s butts with no gravity and have awesome characters to choose from is a winner in my book.”

Deejay Knight: “Trying to pick ONE recently announced game is SUPER difficult to do, but one of my favorites thus far has been Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. It’s one of the *very* few times Nintendo characters have been featured in a game with others, and after playing a bit of it, I’m SUPER amped to play!”

Vio: “For me, that would have to be Assassin’s Creed: Origins. The moment I saw the eagle fly in the trailer, I literally had to grasp the sides of my chair and hold myself back from screaming. Assassin’s Creed is one of the first games that really got me into gaming – I’ll never forget the feeling of when I first leaped from a building and into a haystack as an Assassin. I felt so free and I was so amazed by the scenery and the mechanics of the game. Besides, who doesn’t love being a badass Assassin?”

3. What are your thoughts on this year’s E3?

Kyle Gaddo: “This E3 was great and it was cool to see people excited about games, even if it made the floor more crowded.”

Amber Osborne: “Definitely a different energy than years past with the addition of the public entry with many, many more faces but I think from the fan’s side, a good way to connect and learn about the industry up close.”

Deejay Knight: “In my own mind, I found E3 awesome, yet short. Mind you, this is after attending many of the more consumer-focused shows like PAX. With this being a more Press-focused event, I found I didn’t properly plan my meetings, though I eventually got MOST of the information I’d hoped to get.”

Vio: “I was amazed by both the atmosphere and the work that was put into multiple events. Definitely an unforgettable experience where I met so many new people and had the pleasure of seeing old friends as well.”

4. What is your favorite memory of E3 2017?

Kyle Gaddo: “My favorite memory is freaking out during the back-to-back announcements of Monster Hunter Worlds and the Shadow of the Colossus remake and having my friends laugh at me.”

Amber Osborne: “I think my favorite memory from E3 and any E3 is when you can sit down and really get to talk with someone that maybe you’ve seen online but never have met before. Sometimes magic happens from this, collaborations, ideas…that’s what is special about E3 and I am sure has been the start of many companies and games.”

Deejay Knight: “My favorite memory of E3 2017 is the PUBG party! The slow mo vids/gifs were SUPER awesome, and I’d never seen that done before. :D”

Vio: “It’s hard to have a single favorite memory for any event honestly – the ones I cherish the most are the ones where I get to hang out with my friends and goof around with them. That’s also the main reason why I go to these events – to bond with like-minded people and to create amazing memories with them.”

5. Will you come back next year?

Kyle Gaddo: “And I’ll definitely be back next year.”

Amber Osborne: “Absolutely!”

Deejay Knight: “Will I make it back next year? That’s hard to say. I’d almost need to book all the travel *now* to get reasonable prices, and as a Broadcaster, that’s going to be a bit difficult to do, but I had a great time and would love to!”

Vio: “Most definitely – I could never give up the opportunity of such an amazing atmosphere and being with such amazing individuals. You will definitely see me again next year!”
